Refractory bricks are typically made from refractory materials, the main components of which are alumina (Al2O3), silicon, magnesium, zirconium, silicon carbide, and so on. Refractory bricks have characteristics such as high temperature resistance, wear resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance, and are often used as linings in industrial equipment such as high-temperature furnaces, iron furnaces, and glass kilns.
Different types of refractory bricks have different high-temperature resistance capabilities. Generally speaking, the refractory temperature range of ordinary refractory bricks is between 1300 and 1500 degrees Celsius. The refractory temperature of high-alumina refractory bricks (with a higher aluminum content) can reach 1700 to 1800 degrees Celsius. There are also some special types of refractory bricks, such as silicon carbide refractory bricks and silicon nitride refractory bricks, whose refractory temperatures can exceed 2000 degrees Celsius.
It should be noted that the actual refractory temperature of refractory bricks will also be affected by factors such as the operating environment, thermal stress, and heating rate. In special applications, other high-temperature refractory materials, such as ceramic fibers and refractory castables, may also be used.
