High-alumina bricks and mullite bricks are common refractory materials, with some differences in composition, properties, and applications.

  Composition:

High-alumina bricks: High-alumina bricks are mainly composed of high-purity alumina and a small amount of alumina silicate and other additives, with an alumina content generally above 40%.

Mullite bricks: Mullite bricks are mainly made by smelting mullite ore, the main component being mullite and a small amount of other oxides.

  Refractory Properties:

High-alumina bricks: High-alumina bricks have good high-temperature resistance, with a refractory temperature generally between 1400℃ and 1500℃. They have excellent wear resistance, corrosion resistance, and thermal shock stability.

Mullite bricks: Mullite bricks have high high-temperature resistance, with a refractory temperature generally between 1500℃ and 1700℃. They have higher thermal shock stability and slag resistance, suitable for some medium and high-temperature industrial kilns.

  Characteristics and Applications:

High-alumina bricks: High-alumina bricks have good refractory and mechanical properties and are widely used in kilns, furnaces, and refractory linings in high-temperature industrial fields such as metallurgy, chemical engineering, and glass.

Mullite bricks: Due to their higher thermal shock stability and slag resistance, mullite bricks are often used in refractory linings, insulation layers, and refractory blocks.
